The Rahua Story

Rahua's journey began when Fabian Lliguin, a New York hairstylist, discovered rahua oil in the Amazon rainforest while educating indigenous people about land rights. Amazed by its transformative effects on hair, Fabian brought it back to his salon, where it quickly proved its remarkable benefits. Understanding its cultural and environmental significance, he chose to honor the traditional methods of the Quechua-Shuar tribe. In 2008, Fabian and his wife Anna Ayers launched Rahua, blending their expertise to create a line of innovative, plant-based products. 

Supporting Indigenous Land & People

Before founding Rahua, Fabian and Anna united through their environmental passion, starting a non-profit to raise awareness about the Amazon rainforest and its protection. They emphasize the importance of preserving mature trees, which are vital for oxygen production, as newly planted trees take about 25 years to provide sufficient oxygen. Rahua is dedicated to supporting indigenous communities in safeguarding these essential trees. Through their efforts, they provide legal tools and education to help these communities protect their rainforest heritage and sustain our oxygen supply.

Defending Galapagos Endemic Species 

10% of proceeds from the Rahua Enchanted Island Collection support the protection and preservation of Galapagos coastal areas. Rahua partners with locals to clean thousands of plastic bottles and fibers from beaches, helping to maintain vital habitats for flamingos, penguins, marine iguanas, and seabirds.
